“HAND TO HAND – Education through sport! – Erasmus+ Project, financed by the European Union
The project “HAND TO HAND – Education through Sport” was born about 4 years ago, when we noticed that there is an increasingly pressing, serious and present social need in our society: violence.
This manifests itself in many forms and is found in the daily life of each of us.The violence that society, and especially children and young people, face is found in the form of domestic and juvenile violence, but also in the form of bullying, which is getting worse and more intense every day. Added to all this is the consumption of prohibited substances and childhood obesity.
This is how this project was shaped, which began with a gym, developed over time and which we want to develop at a national level. It is specifically aimed at children and young people from rural areas and refers to the practice of an educational-sports activity in the commune where the children live. We applied under the action KA182- Mobility of personnel in the field of sports and we won this project. We chose Serbia because of the sports infrastructure that our neighbors have and because of their extensive sports experience in mass sports. So the practical part of our ERASMUS+ project started in Golubac, Serbia and lasted for 15 days, during which 10 participants from our association had the chance to learn and develop the necessary skills to develop the project in Romania.
We learned theoretical and practical aspects, both individually and as a team. Two experienced teachers and eight instructors who are just starting out, but who are willing to learn and then share the experience gained during this period participated to our project. They will open sports halls, in order to develop our national project. Both for us and for our partner from Serbia, it was an interesting experience of learning, of meeting the two cultures, of acceptance and collaboration, for a common purpose and language: education through sports. It is very important that each of us becomes increasingly involved in the community we are part of and develops it, so that we live in a safe and healthy European environment and in which we promote European values through education and sports. This project is permanent and continuous, complementing other projects that we are currently developing, and we will continue it in the future, both through similar activities and through various other activities.
